To apply for or renew a Secure Local Jobs Code Certificate, you must engage an approved auditor who is independent from the ACT Government. The auditor will guide you through the assessment process, including what information you need to provide, and will submit your application to the Secure Local Jobs Code Registrar once the assessment is complete.
Before applying or renewing, take the following steps:
When you have completed the online application, submit it directly to your approved auditor for review. The auditor will then submit an audit report detailing your business's compliance with the Code to the Registrar for consideration. Your business will also receive a copy of this submission for your records.
The Registrar will then determine whether your business meets the requirements of the Code, and may issue a Secure Local Jobs Code Certificate on behalf of the ACT Government. Any conditions or exemptions will be listed on the certificate, which can be valid for up to 30 months, depending on your business's history of compliance.
The time it takes for your approved auditor to complete an assessment depends on your business size and structure, your preparation for the assessment, and your auditor's availability. The Registrar will issue a Code Certificate within five business days of receiving a complete and compliant application.
The cost of an audit depends on the size of your business and the Approved Auditor you select. Indicative costs are provided by business size.
